The indoor space features a spacious dining area with generous seating, offering panoramic views of the veranda and plain, creating an ideal setting for game spotting during meals. The bar is well-stocked with a diverse selection of soft drinks and spirits, and the lounge, furnished with comfortable sofas, provides a relaxing space to unwind.
The curio shop, brimming with items sourced from the region, is a perfect spot to acquire souvenirs or presents for your loved ones, all while supporting our regional suppliers and their families. Our inventory includes goods from local communities and fair-trade providers, allowing you to positively impact these underserved communities with every purchase!
A crystal-clear swimming pool invites you in in the heat of the day with loungers to relax on, or choose to sit on the viewing decks and watch the game as they go about their lives on the plain or at the waterhole. The verandas give ample space to enjoy the outdoors on, whether in the day or at night, allowing 24-hour viewing of the wildlife.
The cosy accommodations at our lodge include rondavels and adjoining rooms, each thoughtfully equipped for your comfort, these spaces provide an ideal retreat.
A special feature of Hobatere is that it has a functional airstrip for those guests that can enjoy the pleasure of viewing our country from the air. This allows guests to reduce their travelling times and spend more time enjoying the experiences on offer.
You will be collected on landing and driven to the lodge where you can relax in the serenity. Reception will gladly arrange all excursions you might choose, ensuring your stay is nothing short of spectacular, before you jet off on the next leg of your journey.
The spacious restaurant is complemented by a lounge, bar area and an outside veranda with seating for watching the wildlife parade at the waterhole.
There is a swimming pool next to the main area with sun lounges for relaxing under the Namibian sun.
Hobatere runs a small curio shop.
There are six rondavels with twin beds, holding all required for your stay with us, as well as six double rooms that can accommodate a third person on request.
Every rondavel and room comes with a private ensuite bathroom, including a shower, basin, toilet, and complimentary toiletries. Towels are provided for room use, and guests are kindly requested not to use them at the pool. Please enquire at reception for towels to use at the pool.
Furnishings include comfortable beds, bedside tables and lamps, a writing desk and a coffee and tea station. Please remember to request your flask of hot water at reception at any time you require it, and cold drinks can be purchased at the bar.
Each space has its own private veranda with a table and chairs – so put your feet up and savour the experience of this charming lodge.
As the lodge does its best to lighten its footprint where possible, power is supplied by solar energy. This is ideal for the remote location, however is not strong enough to power kettles or fridges in the rooms – but please do request flasks of hot water at any time of day, which can also be brought to your room in the early morning.
